Rest in Peace Sweet Ranger: Apr.?, 2004 - Jan. 26, 2010

We had to put our sweet dog Ranger to sleep this afternoon. He was diagnosed with Kidney failure in October and went downhill pretty rapidly. He wasn't eating and didn't like taking the medicines, so that along with the sadness in his eyes let us know it was time. He was such a perfect dog and will be missed terribly. We love you Ranger.

Volunteer Day

TheTexas Mendelsohns spent a great day yesterday volunteering with Project Linus. Laurin got to put her great sewing skills to use and Ron and Alison helped a lot too in the making of blankets for children. Many of the blankets produced or donated yesterday will go to Haiti, but more often they are used in Tarrant County at hospitals, Red Cross, Child Protective Services, etc; any time a child might need a little extra comfort. Laurin LOVED it! Most of the kids who were there, drew on fabric panels to make a quilt for kids, but Laurin got to sew the panels and even put together a few other blankets. She even got to take the panels home to completely finish it. We'll take it back when they meet next month. We signed up as a family as part of the "Give a Day/Get a Disney Day" program to get a one day ticket to WDW, but we will definitely be going back. It was so much fun!

Finally, some new pictures!

Hope you all had a Happy Hanukkah, a Merry Christmas, and a wonderful New Year! We don't have any pictures from the holiday break, but here are some from Laurin's 10th Birthday....she hit double digits! She got to have a slumber party and then we went to the American Girl store in Dallas for lunch and activities. It was a great way to celebrate turning 10.

Everyone contributed two cupcakes of their own design
