Holiday Break

Laurin and I started our break on Friday afternoon and are really looking forward to the time off. Hopefully everyone can get healthy again....we've been sharing a cold for a while now. No big plans for the time off....Laurin will get to spend a day at Six Flags with one of her friends and we are all going to San Antonio for a few days after Christmas.
Ron's big treat came Saturday night when he got to attend the final Dallas Cowboys football game at Texas Stadium in Irving. Thanks to Uncle Bob. Ron, Joel, Larry and Bob attended the game in 30 degree weather and even stayed for the "after party." Though it wasn't the happiest of evenings since the Cowboys lost and probably blew any chance at the playoffs. The four guys even made in on Chanel 11 News. They are in the background while the reporter is trying to do his job, Ron is of course on his cell phone talking to Alison and Laurin telling them to turn on the TV.

Nutcracker Performance

Here are pictures from Laurin's first (and probably last) ballet performance. Her third grade class did a production of the Nutcracker. She was in the toy scene....one of the bears. It was a great performance! The teachers and kids did an amazing job. Can't wait for the DVD! Really...they made one....the Media class at the Career Tech Academy films the local plays, concerts, etc and makes great DVD's for purchase. Sure makes it easier to enjoy the performance when you aren't having to worry about battery power on your camera or getting all the right shots without someones head in the way.

It has been a while...

O.K. So much for weekly posts....how about monthly instead? I guess there hasn't been much to post because there hasn't been much new and exciting in the Mendelsohn household. We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It was very nice here. Laurin had a swim meet a couple of weeks ago and did great....even posting some "B" times. She moved up to the Bronze group in swimming on Dec. 1st so now there are more practices and more meets. Her next one (last one as an "8 & Under") is Dec. 20-21. Maybe I'll get some pictures from that.
Otherwise we're just counting the days until the Holiday Break. No big plans, just enjoying the time off; but we will go to San Antonio for a few days Dec.28-31. Hopefully I will have posted before then though.
